Step Outside: Curb Appeal and Outdoor Living in the Spring Market
Hi, I'm Courtney Fiala, a REALTOR on the team here at Real Vibe.
Each month in my corner I'll be sharing seasonal topics and tips to help you, or someone you know, navigate the world of real estate a little more confidently.
This month, let's talk about something that can make a real difference in a spring sale: your outdoor space.
Start with the basics
A tidy, well-maintained garden signals to buyers that a home has been cared for. Trim hedges, clear pathways, and make sure the route to your front door feels welcoming and safe. It sounds simple, but it sets the tone for everything that follows.
Add a pop of colour
Fresh flowers go a long way. A few flats of seasonal blooms in garden beds and patio pots can brighten your exterior and make your home feel alive and inviting, without a big investment.
Stage your outdoor living spaces
If you have a patio, deck, or balcony, don't leave it bare. Help buyers picture themselves there by setting the scene. Arrange outdoor furniture, set a table with simple dinnerware, and add cushions or throw pillows to create warmth. You want them to walk out and think "this is where I'd spend my summer."
Keep it up throughout your listing
First impressions happen at every showing, not just the first one. Weather permitting, try to maintain your outdoor staging throughout your listing period so every buyer gets the same welcoming experience.
A little effort outside can make a big difference at the offer table.
